Paying our Publishers

Small Press United makes monthly payments to client publishers electronically. Publishers provide SPU with their account information, and with the routing number of their bank. SPU uses its bank's direct deposit facility to make payments.

Publisher payments are automatically calculated from sales and returns data drawn from SPU's sophisticated distribution software, which means that there is never anything discretionary or arbitrary about the amounts due. SPU's parent company has never missed or been late with a publisher payment in its 35-year history.

Online Resources

The monthly statement of publishers' credits and debits, and the supporting documentation, is available on each publisher's password- protected section of the SPU website. Publishers have access to very detailed written explanations of all the features of their monthly statements.

Publisher Enrollment Fee

There is a one-time setup fee of $200 for joining our program. The start-up fee for enrolling with SPU can be made electronically.
